I plan to use dry herbs on it…should I put the herbs on the chicken before I cook it or later?

I would suggest you brine the chicken breast first. The herbs can go in the brine – otherwise ad them before you cook the chicken breast.

It depends on the size and thickness of the chicken breast but I usually cook mine 10-20 minutes. I would recommend that you just watch it carefully and then cut it down the middle to make sure it cooked all of the way through.

You can put the herbs on before your grill your boneless chicken breast. Assuming this is a normal thickness, it should be cooked in about 7 or 8 minutes.

I suggest you invest a few dollars in an instant read meat thermometer. Chicken pieces are done when it reads 170 F or when the juices run clear.

I punch it with a spike-type meat tenderizer, then marinate it to get juices inside the meat.
